Cannot get internet on New Toshiba NetBook? Cannot get conected via Phone line. System tells me it has no Modem. I live in area with no Broadband etc. What the hell use is this to me now. Do I need to buy a Modem, and if so will it still help, given my area.
Toshiba Satelite P205? I am working on my friends computer and I am stumped. The computer will power up for all intensive purpose, power light shows on, and the cd-rom spins up, and I even get power to the USB ports. However I get nothing on the screen no post, now errors not even a flicker. So far I have tried using an external, using the FN+F5(display switch). Some random keys even cntrl+alt+del, FN+F3(hibernate), FN+F4(sleep), keyboard functions for the screen brightness and just about anything else that looked like it used a function key. I have also tried removing hardrive, and ram; and AC power w/o battery, and with battery. {Tried removing the battery, and holding the power down for 20sec(Toshiba Phone Support as far as they would go)}, 30sec, even 1min. I am trying to avoid the conclusion I keep getting in my head(dead system board), but I think I am out of options. Does anyone have any advice, or had same issue, and knows the resolution? If so please help. Thank you.
Toshiba laptop, six months old, technical issues? Toshiba satellite L350 model no. PSLD8E-0ME024EN if you need to know the more technical stuff like RAM please ask :-) it uses windows vista Okay, so this is what happened: Last night, I decided to clean out a few things in my laptop because Toshiba Tempro told me that my hard drive had reached over 75% of its capacity. I did a disk cleanup, and a disk defragmenter, and deleted files (like old pictures and documents) that i did not need. The defragmenter took ages, it took about an hour and a half and then I had to go babysit my cousin, so I left my laptop on standby, so it could continue (or so I thought it would continue, but it might not of) my defragmenter was apparently scheduled every wednesday but I thought I should do a manual one as I have not defragmented my laptop, the whole time I had it. When I got back it was fairly late and I had to go to school today so I left my laptop on standby, as it was before. I took it off standby this morning, quickly checked facebook, the defragmenter was still running and had not finished so I cancelled it and turned off my laptop. I turned my laptop on about an hour ago, to find that my Windows Vista theme (the little circle as the start menu logo, with the windows logo in the circle, with the black taskbar things at the bottom of the screen and the top it was purple, as I had customised it) had turned into the grey windows classic, the really old one! I thought nothing of it until I tried to change it back in the themes bit in the control panel, and there was no avaliable themes apart from 'my modified theme', 'windows classic' and 'browse' I clicked browse but could not find anything. I then went to look on the internet for a solution, but my internet would not work. The wireless switch was on, my mum and dad's ipod touches were working fine with the internet, and the family computer had the internet fine (i'm on the family computer now.) Windows could not find a solution either. My Kaspersky Anti-Virus was turned off so I thought I'd better turn it on, and it said it was unable to turn on. I then tried to do system restore- I thought maybe I could go back to how it was before I defragged and everything last night- "System restore failed." when I only opened the program. I can't really reboot my laptop, as I have all my schoolwork, my photography, my coursework... and my external hard drive is not big enough to store my stuff while I reboot it. Can anyone help me? I tried phoning Toshiba but they are closed, and I really need to get my work done and everything...? :\ thank you in advance...

Lost my Toshiba Satellite A135-S4447 restore to default/factory settings disc? Firstly, I'm using Vista if that changes anything. Yeah, I lost those restore discs, however I really want to restore my system to its factory settings back in Feb.2007 when it was bought. How would I go about this, considering I lack physical disks to go on with the restore process? Is there a place I can download the .iso files to burn them to a disc so that I can finally restore my system, or do I have to contact Toshiba, if so please link that web page, or include their phone number. I really need to restore my system to its original factory settings, so please help. I don't want a regular Windows Vista, cause that doesn't include all the Toshiba drivers I need for my computer to function properly and smoothly. Please respond with a helpful response, don't half-ass it. I meant a regular Windows Vista restore or installation disc, sorry about that. My system doesn't have a build in recovery or whatever partition.
Toshiba Satellite screen saver not working/Power source? I just realized the screen saver on my Toshiba Satellite laptop is not working. I called the GEEK Squad and got NO help! Was told it may have something to do with the power supply/source? I've only had it 30 days and I either have to drive an hour and a half for them to see it or pay for phone help. It was working when I first got it and I did try a system restore back to that date. It did not help. No wild guesses please, I need someone who knows what to do. Would really appreciate help!! Windows XP -- Intel Centrino Duo -- 105 A (I think) I have a screen saver selected "aquarium" it was set for 10 minutes but I changed it to 3 minutes, clicked apply and ok but that did not resolved the issue either. Also, I can preview the screen saver through the desktop properties. It just does not start on it's own after the computer has set idle.
Who has the best customer phone support for computers? (see details)? Might you kindly rank the following in customer support, from best to worst? (Acer, Dell, HP, Compaq, Toshiba, Sony) I'm shopping for a new system soon, and customer support is very important to a dummy like me - thanks! :)

Need help contacting Toshiba UK? So get this: I've been trying to get through to Toshiba for a month to extend my warranty to go in circles on their site and unsuccessfully do it. Toshiba contact me TEN days after my warranty runs out advising me I need to extend it. Their site doesn't recognise me even though I'm a registered user (and the owner of the laptop, not to mention the person who bought it directly from a curry's store). They tell me to "re-register" so I can extend my warranty only to put me through a ten minute re-reg system that eventually tells me it can't put me through as my laptop is registered. I've spent two days nonstop going in circles on their site finding nothing more than "phone numbers" which I've spent twenty minutes a time at premium phone rates keeping me on hold listening to Vivavldi (in fact according to last months phone bill, a call I made to them cost me £16.70 and that was the day when I finally got answered, they cut me off) and can find NO contact email address for their goddamn company. I'm wondering if I'm going to have to resort to sending death threat letters to their company directly just to get some kind of human contact back (okay, not really, but am VERY frustrated with this shit). I tried to register for their support forums - surprise surprise, I take five minutes registering and the site has errors and doesn't work (tried a further three times to make sure). I need some kind of proper email address or contact us site (UK specifically) I can fill in for Toshiba UK as I've had enough of this. Their site is unhelpful, their phonelines are useless and unresponsive, and I've had enough. If my laptop breaks or has any errors and I can't have it repaired it'll be THEIR fault as they have NO method for me to contact them successfully, and I'll be the one to suffer for it. Help? Someone know where I can get in touch??? As I stated - I DON'T want to phone them, I've spent most of the month trying to get through to them by phone waiting twenty minutes a time getting no answer while being CHARGED to wait. The one day they answered I was cut off within two seconds... I can't afford to keep phoning them for no answers.

Toshiba Laptop Problem? Yesterday when I turned on my Toshiba Satellite laptop with Vista Business, after the "Welcome" sequence, the screen was black w/movable "loading" cursor and a frozen start bar. After a restart it opened to a white screen w/movable cursor. On the third try it opened to my wallpaper with loading cursor and frozen start bar. After several tries, I started up in Safe mode. It started up, but what came up was a very magnified safe mode wallpaper. I restarted again, and it loaded to a white screen with a "Motorola Phone Service App. has stopped working" error. We restarted a few more times, and it did the same thing. My mom did a system restore, and it worked fine. I then noticed the internet icon with the two computers and the blue circle was missing, as well as the volume icon. We restarted again, and it loaded to the same white screen with Motorola error. It is NOT a problem with the screen, as we hooked it up to another screen and it still wouldn't work. What is going on? the computer is UNUSABLE. I cant get into safe mode without my mom doing it, and it took her forever

I have spoke to microsoft and toshiba by phone, and neither were of any help. i can get in by safe mode, but it's limited. what are my options? I dont have many files, so i can restore the system. FFXI graphics are messed up...? I have installed both Warhammer online and FFXI on my Toshiba Satellite model A305-S6858 which has Vista on it. Warhammer looks fine however FFXI isn't looking correct with mostly the characters and mobs in the game. They flicker and appear to only show some of the colors or all the colors and parts of the character or mob are missing. I'm not sure what settings I need to change if I can to make this work correctly. I have installed the newest DirectX and video drivers and still not working properly and this is even after I reinstalled the OS. Which I did for other reason. I am probably giving more info than needed or maybe not enough.. However if someone can direct me the direction needed to get this solved I would be most greatful! Thanks ahead of time! Its a specail fix for the graphic issue I am having...so if anyone knows of where I can find it that would be great! Untill then I will keep searching. Thanks! A friend of mine found a link on intels site that has the 64 bit version downloadable. http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2800&lang=eng If link wont work, just do the following: You go to Intels main page click downloads under work section. (takes you to a new window) Select "Graphics" on the left side Select "laptop graphic contollers" Select "Mobile Intel 965 express chipset family" (takes you to a new window) Just select the OS and go from there. As of last night they did have the vista home premium for downloading. I am not sure for the othe other os downloads. Hope this helps out! When I edit the question stating about the 64 bit driver being found, that was when I had the issue resolved... So thanks to you all for replying. Just glad I can play now with graphics back to normal.

Windows 7 Not Able To Play Audio Files with Bitrates Lower Than 128kbps? I have alot of songs on my old computer that had a bitrate of 64kbps and the played very well on my computer, itunes, ipod and cell-phone. But for some reason they don't sound right on my laptop that used Window 7, is there anything I can do to fix that or is this just how Windows 7 is? My Computer Info: I have a Satellite Toshiba Laptop, 2GB RAM, 32-Bit Operating System, Came with Windows 7.
My xbox360 literally WILL NOT connect to xbox live.? Alright, so I have a Toshiba A505-S6025 Laptop. I spent like 940$ on this piece of junk (I think it's the problem) Because I have a Netgear wireless router connected through a cable modem. My internet on the laptop is fine. But it will not allow me to connect to my xbox360 through my laptop with an ethernet cable. Modem > Router > Laptop > Xbox. It used to work completely fine. Now it will not connect. Hasn't been able to connect in roughly 2 and a half months. I'm running windows 7 and when I look at my Ethernet connection on the laptop it says Unidentified Network. Either that or most of the time "Identifying". I've literally tried everything my brain can think of. Unplugging the phone cables. The router, the modem... rebooting. System restores (which worked once and only for a few minutes) But like literally NOTHING will work! My xbox always comes up saying "Cannot connect to xbox live" And sometimes when I do the troubleshooting it says something about DNS and DHCP. I've even gotten into command prompt and used Ipconfig codes such as Ipconfig/flushdns.... Renew. and alot of other ones and that dont work. Also. My laptop wont let my desktop connect through the ethernet cable anymore either. I've tried everything. Any ideas anyone? :(
laptop wont connect to internet.! hellpp.? i have a toshiba and a malware somehow hacked into my computer.! i tried system restore and it removed the malware but for some reason it can not connect to the internet.! i also have a desktop and house phone connected to my internet and both are working both fine but not my laptop! what can i do?? i already have malwarebytes on my laptop; didnt help fix my internet problem. everything is ok with my laptop i just cant connect to the internet.

Need help with my wireless set up? So Windows 7 pretty much messed up my wireless, to the point of no return. Before I get to the question let me eliminate some possible answers I might get. I called Toshiba, they were zero help. I tried emailing Realtek, the wireless manufacturer, to no prevail as they never wrote back. For whatever reason I could not find a phone number, only emails that they supposedly do not bother to check. I even called Bestbuy who are ujseless because I'm not paying geek squad a bag full of money to tell me exactly what toshiba told me. So this is the problem. I did in fact find possible drivers on realtek.com, http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=41&PFid=9&Level=6&Conn=5&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false&Downloads=true The problem is when I try to download the suppose windows 7 driver update it says "Sorry ! We do not support this operating system !" in those exact words. Very strange message that I do not understand. Can anyone help me with this? Exactly what is the problem? The driver says windows 7, so how is it not compatible with my OS if my OS is in fact windows 7? This is what I'm confused about.
How much would this laptop cost? Hi, I had this laptop(Toshiba Satellite A200-TH7 for over 2 years. WINDOWS VISTA NOT STARTING PLLEEASSEE HELP? IM NOT ASKING YOUR OPINION OF VISTA, I DON"T CARE, I HAVE IT, AND I HAVE IT, SO SHUT UP I NEED HELP ON HOW TO DO IT, DON"T TELL MY LIMEWIRE IS BAD, I OBVIOUSLY KNOW THAT NOW, USE YOUR HEADS AND GIVE ME GOOD HELP NOT OPINIONS * 9 minutes ago * - 4 days left to answer. Additional Details Just got new toshiba computer, OS windows vista home primium, It is for my brother, and he hasen't seen it yet. So I though I should start downloading things like MSN and itunes. Things he uses alot. So after everything, things were going well. I downloaded limewire, and it finished the download, and at the point in the little firefox box where it says scanning for viruses, the computer froze. So I turned off the computer, and now when it turns on, it goes to, start windows normally, or run wizard or something with the (recomended) next to it, it says it will find the problem and fix it. When it does this, is says at the bottem windows is looking for gfiles, it finishes that in about 5 seconds, then the vista bar comes up when you turn on your computer, the bars go across it as to show its loading vista. Both the help option and the start windows normally option take me to this, but there is no windows vista sign above the bar, just the bar, and it doesn't load after sevral minutes. If I can't fix it, what do I do. It came with re-installation discs, but the last time I used those on my other laptop with vista, it gave me vista, but no drivers, and after hours and hours with dell pn the phone i got it working, turns out you do it on the actally computer, a system restore, but I can't access that. I just posted this, but people don't understand. I CAN"T GET INTO VISTA, there aren't any safemode options, theres a startup repair, which just loads and loads, and theres start windows vista, which loads and loads

Also, do NOT just post like, "Get Hp," or, "Go to this website," so please tell me the information, and a link to the website so I can read more about it. I play games that need very good laptops to run them! Some are MMOs, and simulation games, and just others that need very good quality. I forgot, I also am making Machinimas, which are videos you make with video games for entertainment, and I'm getting Sony Vegas, and the other stuff, so I just need a lot of expert info about that as well. Reminder: A computer that can play gaming awesome, and something my dad can also use too.

USB not recognized on windows vista home basic? well i have a very unique problem that's wat i think i have toshiba Satellite A135 with windows vista home basic n i have been using it for 3 yrs. for the past days i have noticed that all my 4 USB ports are not working. 2 out of 4 says "USB not recognised" whenever i plug in any of the flash drive or my cell phone cable. rest 2 gives a really interesting problem. whenever i plug in any flash drive i can c that its driver is picked up n installing n finally it installs the driver for that particular drive n i can c the small USB icon in the right bottom icon tray but whenever i open my computer i only see my C drive my DVD drive n external drive icon but whenever i try to open it it shows that drive is empty and on another external drive once plugged i can only see my C drive n DVD drive in my computer no sign of external drive ther.. now this is really strange, i have tried it with windows Vista home basic n windows 7 both give the same problem. i m really in a bad situation i have so much of my work on my external drive but i cant access it on my own laptop i must mention it here that, the said external drive is working on other system, one more thing it doesn't seems to b a hardware or software issue coz power is available in all USB ports which shows that hardware is fine n external drive is ben picked up which shows that software is also working fine, but i fail to understand the missing connection. so sir i really appreciate any solution to this particular problem i m really in a mess sending u few pictures which might help thank u
Who agrees that japan is the most technologically sophisticated country? Many electronic trends that are popular in these three countries before the rest of the world. Look at sms by your mobile phone or what people in america call text messaging. This trend was popular in Japan in the late 1990s but this did not pick up in the United States and Europe till the early to mid 2000's. Who produces the most reliable cars? Japan. Toyota, Lexus, Honda, and Acura. Yes, BMW and Mercedes are decent rivals but these days, Lexus and Acura have the edge over them and this is especially prevalent just here in California. American cars used to be the best but today, they just suck big time. Who produces some of the best tv's in the world? Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, etc. several Japanese companies to make things short Who manufactures the leading video game systems and computers? same answer. Sony, Nintendo(video games), Toshiba, and Sega(when it was popular back in the day) Who produces some of the best cameras in the world? Again Sony, Toshiba, Nikon, Canon, etc. As a matter of fact, Japan is the largest consumer electronics manufacturer in the world. I think the US needs to model its electronics industry after Japan's or else we will lose the edge in one thing we have been very strong at: innovation. right now, we have our big, powerful military and the fact that we are a large country to keep us in power but we want to be powerful in all ways. I never said Japan was reliant solely on its consumer electronics industry. I just said it has the largest output in this industry.
