Lucent Phone System Knowledge Base

How do you connect Music to Avaya Partner ACS & Lucent phone system while on hold? I don't really have a ton of knowledge about small business phone systems. I am attempting to play royalty free music over our phone system while we put people on hold. We have an Avaya (old school Lucent) Partner ACS system with 1 main unit and 2 extension units. It is R 4.1 version and we are currently running 4 lines off it and 10 extensions. There is a "Music on Hold" RCA jack in the front of the main unit. Right now we have an RCA cable attached to that from a computer where we are playing music to get it working. We hear nothing and have tried numerous things like making sure the feature is programmed on a phone, etc. Any help or ideas? Do we need a music coupler to make this work or a smaller watt source? Thanks for your help!
I need help with a Lucent Partner 18D phone system? I have a lucent partner 18D system with 7 phones on 4 lines. What I want is when somebody calls I want only one phone to ring then I want that person to transfer to one of the others as needed. When it's on night service it is supposed to go to voice mail. What is happening now is when somebody calls there is a prerecorded greeting. This greeting is from years ago and was turned off but somehow it is back on. And now night service no longer does anything. I've looked at tons of info all over the internet and tried many things but I can't get anything to work. We don't have a manual for the phones. Neither do either of the Lucent or Avaya websites. Tech support through them is $120 an hour so that would be a last resort. @Island Its: There is nothing wrong with the phones/phone system we already have. Yahoo answers is not here for you to use it as a plug to try and whore your business on others. Your answer has been reported as abuse with Yahoo. @Joe r: It is a partner ACS. What it is actually doing now is ringing about 7 times then the auto answer picks up. The voicemail only works if you go to extension ten from the auto answer. We want auto answer disabled altogether, so that the voicemail will pick up if nobody answers. I have tried the advice posted http://www.avayausers.com/showpost.php?s=fb74ad4a48a52f43876fab52eec3afa6&p=108558&postcount=2 /\ there and I could not get it to work. After I press 1 for the line number the screen says ''Group Call Distrib 7'' on the top line and then a "1" on the bottom line. I then press feature 00 and repeat for all lines and then the auto answer still comes up. So I must be doing something wrong. more update: It wasn't working before because I was pushing just the number one when I should have been pressing 01. I have now disabled the auto answer. But now the voicemail never picks up, because there is nothing to transfer it to a specific extension. Is there anyway to set up one voicemail that will answer for the entire system?
How can I re-program the outside line buttons a Merlin 410 phone system? I have the AT&T/Lucent/Avaya Merlin 410 phone system at my office. The top left 4 buttons are pre-programmed for the outside lines. Since we only have 2 outside lines, I would like to re-program the other buttons to one of the available programs so that I do not have 2 "dead" buttons. I tried following the manual, but it is not holding the program. I know I am doing correctly because it is holding on the 2nd group of 5 buttons (I am using the 10-button receiver). Can anyone tell me if this is possible; if so, how? Thank you in advance! -Matt
Lucent Partner II Communications System? How do I input the sequence for Auto Line Sequence? Want to use Line 3, Line 2 then Line 1. Need to program Lucent Partner II phone system for the Auto Line Selection (Chapter 5-20). This function allows to skip main Line #1 as the main pick up and thus can use Line #3 as the pick up line. Line # 1 is the main incoming line and want to avoid additional traffic. Kindly see below: FEATURE "0", "0" (Begin) Left Intercom (Twice) Right Intercom Extension (Example 15 "1", "5") Extension Buttons in Sequence ?????? WHAT DO I NEED TO KEY IN FOR LINES 3, 2 then 1 ??? FEATURE "0", "0" (End) It has been a while so I was even wondering if this is the right function. Thanks for the look.
I want to connect my office digital phone to my computer so that I can use my bluetooth headset. Can I do it? I have a digital multiline PBX system at my office. I think it's a LUCENT/AVAYA Partner ACS System. I also have a laptop that has bluetooth built in. I also have a bluetooth headset that I normally use with my cell phone. I'd like to somehow connect my phone system with my computer so that I can that use my bluetooth headset to speak on my phone. I'd also like to perhaps record my phone conversations through my computer. Does anyone know what product I need to purchase so that my digital phone system will somehow connect to my laptop?
How to work Lucent phones? We have about 5 Lucent brand phones in our office. We have them set up to just pick and answer. I was told that we can set up voicemail for each department and even an automated system of some type? If anyone knows how to do this please send me the information, this would help us out very much! Thanks so much!!
Is this true? Got it in an email...? Obama Launches total Takeover of Media: Even the Washington Post describes it like something out of Orwell’s 1984. The FCC has approved a presidential alert system. Obama may soon appear on your television or call your cell phone to warn you about the next specious al-Qaeda underwear bombing event. Commissioners voted last week to require television and radio stations, cable systems and satellite TV providers to participate in a test that would have them receive and transmit a live code that includes an alert message issued by the president. No date has been set for the test, according to the Post. Once again, the government has imposed an unreasonable and absurd mandate on business and the American people. “The Federal Communications Commission today took action to help pave the way for the first-ever Presidential alert to be aired across the United States on the Nation’s Emergency Alert System (EAS),” the FCC announced on February 3 in a press release. “The national test will help determine the reliability of the EAS system and its effectiveness in notifying the public of emergencies and potential danger nationwide and regionally.” As Next Generation EAS systems become operational over the next few years, they will complement other public alert and warning systems now being developed, including FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) and the Commercial Mobile Alert System that will enable consumers to receive alerts through a variety of multi-media platforms on their smart-phones, blackberries and other mobile broadband devices. If implemented, the president will be able to commandeer your smart phone any time he wants and for any reason the government deems necessary. In November, communications company Alcatel-Lucent announced that it’s creating a Broadcast Message Center that will allow government agencies to send cell phone users specific information in the event of a local, state or national emergency, including those now ubiquitous government warnings about fantastic terror plots that invariably fizzle out or are run by FBI informants and agents provocateurs. It seems not a week or two passes that some gullible Muslim is duped by the agency into a fantastic terror plot (for instance, blowing up Christmas trees). The Broadcast Message Center is designed to force mobile phone manufacturers to adopt the Federal Communication Commission’s Commercial Mobile Alert System. Under the new system, all phones would receive emergency alerts directly from government bureaucrats. Former DHS boss Tom Ridge has admitted that the government exploits terror alerts for political gain. Ridge said he “was pushed to raise the security alert on the eve of President Bush’s re-election, something he saw as politically motivated and worth resigning over.” A specific al-Qaeda terror alert hyped up prior to the election was downgraded by the DHS after Bush beat fellow bonesman Kerry in the election. Obama’s warnings about a supposed al-Qaeda attack on targets in Europe was exaggerated for political purposes, Pakistani diplomat Shamsul Hasan said in October. “I will not deny the fact that there may be internal political dynamics, including the forthcoming midterm American elections. If the Americans have definite information about terrorists and al-Qaida people, we should be provided [with] that and we could go after them ourselves,” Hasan said. No terror event occurred. “It was nothing specific, nothing very new,” said Swedish Justice Minister Beatrice Ask after the official warning. “We agree that there is no indication of concrete targets, concrete dates and concrete terror groups,” added German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere. In addition to your cell phone, the government wants to take control of your internet broadband in the event another phony terror attack threatens the homeland. Lisa Fowlkes, deputy chief of the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau of the FCC, told FederalNewsRadio on Monday that the FCC is looking at how wireless broadband could also enhance the EAS as part of a recommendation that was in the FCC’s National Broadband Plan from last year. The idea is to hijack broadband and the internet for emergency alerting propaganda with the “Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS) being developed by FEMA and the wireless industry,” according to Fowlkes. The system would break into your computer or wireless device and broadcast presidential propaganda announcements, FEMA reports, so-called “Imminent Threat Alerts,” and AMBER Alerts. Government has devised other creative ways to disseminate propaganda. For instance, California introduced a bill last year to commission a study on emerging electronic license plate technology and examine ways that it could introduce new ad revenue streams. In addition to ads, the technology would flash Amber Alerts and other information.
Where can I find the software to program my Alcatel 4400D PBX syste? I have a alcatel-lucent 4400D pbx system. The system does work, the phones can all dial, but I would like to find the manual and software so I can figure out how to access the P.A., the door intercom interface etc. I would also like to point out that before i asked this question and received a blatantly obvious 'first step' response that the manufacturers website did not have the manual, and i am still waiting on Alcatel to get back to me after being transferred multiple times to wrong departments hence why i have asked this question. I would appreciate any ideas on where to go from here, not time wasting "see the Manufacturer Website/Call Them" Thanks.
