Is there any difference between IP PBX and ordinary PBX? If so, what is it? thanks?

- IP PBX uses internet protocol through a WAN or LAN network. An ordinary PBX does not.
- IP PBX = VoIP PBX = analog POTS - you could use VoIP lines, but would require an ATA for your VoIP lines.. with an IP PBX you could have extensions at remote locations... many companies also offer IP PBX hosting, so you would just need the VoIP phones, and the PBX features would be handled by the service provider - one of the companies that i contract with provides hosted IP PBX service...
