Do colleges care what your voice mail is?
Do colleges care what your voice mail is? I got into an argument with my parents about changing my humorous yet tasteful voice mail of "Hello, my name is (Name) and I am a psychic. At the sound of the beep, feel free to tell me what I already know." Do you think colleges care what, if anything my voice mail is, especially if it's as funny yet harmless as this?

- Colleges to give a flying heck what is on your voicemail. As long as it does not cross a line. If you think your voicemail is bad, you should hear mine. lol
- No, I don't think it'll really affect your chances as such but some colleges don't like immature applicants. Not saying you're immature, it might just be taken the wrong way. The safe option would be to take it down for now, till you've heard from them. Though I'm pretty sure they wouldn't hold it against you, a good impression takes some time to build but only a second to destroy
- How would they know? Why would a college call you? You submit your application through the mail, or electronically, and you will hear back the same way.
- I don't think It would effect your chances, but you never know. If your worried change it to something more simple now and change it later on in life. But I don't see anything wrong with a little humor.
- It doesn't really matter because it is mostly students working for the admissions office that make those calls. Besides, it is tasteful. Now, if you put something like "Yo, it's (name) and I can't come to the phone right now because I'm getting f*cked up, feel free to let me know how much ganja you want and I'll get back to you, bu-uuuudy," that might not work out so well.
- Well it's time to grow up dude. This is just the start. Be sure to check out your Facebook too because the Colleges will. Be sure of that.
- hahaha your voice mail is pretty funny lol but nahhh the guy calling probably has a voice mail just like it
- If they have the time to worry about something that miniscule, then they are the ones who have the problem, not you. There is nothing wrong with your voicemail, don't worry about it.
