Toshiba Phone System

Does anyone know of a way to simulate phone calls?

Does anyone know of a way to simulate phone callson an IP Telephony phone system so that we can load test it after a major change? Thank you AnYing. Based on your response I will give more details. Our system is a new install of Cisco VOIP. We had an incident which caused calls to be dropped or not connected at all. Cisco gave us a patch to fix the problem, but we have no way of load testing the fix until people came in the next morning and started using the system. We would like to prove the system is working before people come into work. Didn't find any phone testing equipement called Sidekick7. It looked more like an app for cell phones.

  1. a piece of test equipment called a Sidekick 7 You can find them on eBay for under $200.00
  2. this is a sidekick http://www.tecratools.com/pages/telecom/43442.html there is also a digital version available... it appears that that would be irrelevant in what you are attempting to accomplish.. what i would recommend for any VoIP system would be redundant internet connections... at least 2 internet connections and a dual WAN router... you should never rely on a single point of failure.. as the internet conneciton carries the calls, and is normally/likely the cause for your issues, you should have multiple connections to distribute some of the load... and to act as a back up in the event of a failure of one of your internet connections... for even better redundancy - the ISPs should also be different and/or different types, (ex. cable modem and dsl or T1)
