Toshiba Phone System

Could/should MAC server be paralleled w/ windows and can a VOIP phone system to plug in?

I am looking ot change my office to mac but have a a need for a few windows programs specifically Outlook! I also I need a new phone system and would like to get CISCO phones so any systems work with Mac?

  1. Microsoft exchange will most certainly not run on a Mac. For office situations what possible purpose would you have in revamping the entire office to Mac? If you need server side mac applications just get one Mac application server to run them on. Keep your Microsoft/Linux infrastructure.
  2. For the phone system, what kind of interaction do you need between the phones and the end systems? A Mac server running a TFTP and/or DHCP service can certainly service your Cisco phones as needed, and I believe Macs can run Asterisk for an open source Call Manager as well. Does that answer that part of your question? Also, Exchange won't run on a Mac server, but you can run other mail server applications.
