what are the disadvantages of automated telephone systems?

1. your telephone is everybit as important as your front door. If someone came to your business, met with an automatic door, was directed around the building by signs, never seeing a person, filling out electronic forms, and shown the door with out ever seeing anyone, do you think they would be back again?? Same with automated phone systems. Some people want "quick in, quick out", other need the hand holding sales person. You must provide both.
2. I don't find any disadvantages with automated small office telephone systems. Unless it is not properly configured to meet the business requirements. What I mean is if someone dials an extension and connects to the wrong person then that is not good.
