Toshiba Phone System

Where did people find the ideology that Blackberry is a "business" phone?

I'm not bashing Blackberry users--I used to be one myself, and i love their phones. But why are they considered business phones? Wouldn't a Iphone, or a Droid be considered better for that matter?

  1. Blackberries are business phones because they suck at media.
  2. Actually Blackberry phones originated as a phone that was primarily used by " businessman" because of its email capabilities. When most cell phone companies started charging extra for data plans, it was because of Blackberries and the service they required to function with the email capabilites. Now they have branched out and have an app store and stuff, but they are still behind the iPhone and Droids as far as the entertainment value. I enjoyed my Blackberry because of the communication aspect of it with multiple email accounts and a few other features but it definitely lacked the "entertainment" value that my Droid X has. I had a storm 2 so it was fairly recent technology.
  3. Because BlackBerry's primary market of users ended up being business men/women. You could say it was typecast as a result of that. The iPhone and Android phones were immediately seen as more consumer friendly due to their phones & their operating systems & availability of apps.
  4. Blackberries have more security features in comparison to other droids and iphones. That's why companies still use them for their employees. Blackberries are also marketed to business people unlike droids and iphones.
