Transferring a Analog PBX to a Switch/Patch Panel system?

I am currently helping a company upgrade their system. They have an analog PBX Toshiba system all tied up in a 101-block system. I am thinking of changing it and having all the IP Phones going into a Patch Panel and then into a switch with 1 port going into the PBX system. Is it possible to have an analog PBX system going through a switch and Patch Panel?
