Toshiba Phone System

Dell Laptop internet connection lost.?

My laptop wont connect to the internet, says no connections available. Usually it not only picks up my wireless but also next doors but won't pick up any. Have 2 other laptops in house which are both connecting to the internet. (Both Toshiba laptops). Been gone for nearly 48 hours, done system restore, turned on and of wireless and phone (am on BT). Asked this question earlier and someone answered something about a reciever button or something on the top left of the laptop, to make sure it is not on 'off'. I have looked and cant find a button anywhere. Have also taken battery out and put back in. Do not want to have to get professional help but been gone nearly 48 hours and no resoloution so far. Troubleshooter hasn't picked up any problems however something said about the adaptor not being connected, don't know what this is? But yea, other laptops are but mine isn't. Anyone with a resolution, or knows what this button on the top left of the laptop is that someone said about? THANK YOU!

  1. go to the connection icon in the desktop tray and go to open network and sharing center and look for something that says troubleshoot problems might work
2. sounds to me like your wireless adapter isnt turned on. if you go under network and sharing options, and go to the left side, there should be an option to change adapter settings. click it and it should display all of your current adapters, whether they be wired or wireless. right click the wireless adapter, and if it says enable, then you should have found the one thats turned off. turn it back on and you should start picking up a signal again.
