I recently graduated from university (honours degree in networking and system support) and I now work in a call centre, as a tech support for Cisco. I have my CCNA and I am trying to get as much experience as I can. However my problem is that we only troubleshoot routers, servers, nertworks etc by phone and by emails. I do not get to touch the devices (I configured and toubleshot cisco devices and networks many many times at uni). In a year or two I would like to become a network engineer, I.E configure routers etc. Is my current work experience as a tech support valuable for future employers or are they going to tell me that it is worthless as I only troubleshoot the devices by phone and online? Am I wasting my time?
