Toshiba Phone System

Cannot get internet on New Toshiba NetBook?

Cannot get conected via Phone line. System tells me it has no Modem. I live in area with no Broadband etc. What the hell use is this to me now. Do I need to buy a Modem, and if so will it still help, given my area.

1. If you are still on dial-up access, you need an external modem (USB type). Most recent mobile computing devices have done away with the modem.
2. yep,....... if you attach an external modem that should get your internet connection. In some ways, a phone line connection does have its advantages, as with broadband, one can often temporarily lose their internet connection due to their wireless signals fading in and out and often disconnecting,...... unlike a phone connection which is directly cable linked.
