IP telephony in India:How to?

Hi, Now that IP telephony(PC to phones) has been allowed in India; How do I make these calls, what softwares to use, where to buy the phone cards? Please help me with the steps. Also, will appreciate user-experience stories.

Well currently I have not come across any operator who is providing this service, however you can use an ATA (Analogue Telephone Adapter) to achieve this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asterisk_(PBX) is a good place where you can get loads of help on understanding and implementing this technology. regards Sunil
2. Hi. IP telephony is in used from long back in India..all call centres are using it already... however, PC to Phone with in India is not cheap as of now..u can find out calling cards for india and use it via internet..wont be cheap right not as std's and local calling is less than a rupee.. other than that,u need high speed bandwidth for good quality calling. cheers :)
