Who is better, At&t, Verizon,Sprint,TimeWarner?

Ok, I recently started back to school and I was given a laptop with a wirless card that says Cisco systems right. Well I need the internet while at home. I dont have cable or a home phone. What can I do to get the internet on my laptop and who is the best. I really dont care about how fast just need for use of the web and of course the SPACE!!!!!Lol thx alot, any info is appreciated HAVE A GREAT HUMP DAY :)
