Toshiba Phone System

why are there no IP addresses available from my router?

I'm trying to setup a new IP phone system whereby the phones obtain an IP address from my router's DHCP server. they're all fine bar one, which says no IP address available. everything on the network is setup for dynamic routing - no static IP addresses at all. I heard that the router should be able to cope with 50 devices and I have nowhere near that many. Router details are currently: IP address: 10.1.10.1 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 DHCP Start: 10.1.10.2 DHCP End: 10.1.10.199 I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to IP ranges and subnets, so please be gentle! Thanks Tom Update in response to the first answer: 1) not a cable / port issue - tried several cables into different ports with same result. tried direct into my network switch with a brand new cat5 cable and no dice 2) there are no status lights on the rj45 connectors on the phones. sadly. 3) no settings on the phone that are different to the other 6 phones that have gotten IP addresses fine - they're all brand new out of the box

  1. If your other phones are getting IP addresses via DCHP I would start looking away from the router. 1) Does another phone work when connected to that cable? 2) Is there a green or amber light next to where the Ethernet cable plugs in? PCs have one and that is a good way of testing to see if there is a valid connection. 3) Are there any settings on the phone that would tell it to look at a certain subnet or to use a static IP Address? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Additional Feedback 4) What Brand and Model phones are they? 5) Might there be a reset button or command for the phones?
