Phone Smarts Peoples: headset amp/hands free ?

Ok I got a crap phone like this http://www.electronicsoutfitter.com/store/86115/ctp260ivy.html and I want to know is it possible to hook a amplifier thingy up to it? lol like those Plantronic or Labtec headset systems? like this. http://www.ppiimages.com/pics/labtec-dialog301.jpg AND Would it work having digital phone service (not Voice over IP) just cable phone service. Thanks so much :)

someone should be able to hook an amp up to it but it'll probably cost more than it's worth
