  1. Wow, that's a complex question. You need to consult with an expert that can ask a series of questions specific to your needs and budget.... really understand what you want.... and then make recommendations. In addition to your company's phone needs, usage, features and cost, local considerations like availability of trained service technicians and certified dealers need to be taken into account. It's going to be a nightmare for you if you pick the best phone system on the market, yet there is no one in your area to service it for you..... or you are at the mercy of just one exclusive dealer. I'm not in telecommunications but data networking systems which is very closely related. While sales is our ultimate goal, we do strive to serve the customer as true "consultants". I have the luxury to do this because we represent every major brand of product and are very successful, so forcing the customer into spending too much or buying just our systems and services is never really an issue. I have been in jobs where I HAD to sell the customer on the just one solution I represented to get a commission check that month......which is the exact position that 90% of those you talk to will be in so keep that in mind. I'm wondering why such an important decision for your company....after all it's a big investment that everyone has to live with for many years to come and the phone system is often the "life blood" of businesses....would not be worth a few thousand dollars to hire a professional telephony consultant who knows all the angles and all the players and can expertly guide you to the right decision (and often a money-saving one too!). If you can't do this, try to get some 'free' unbiased advice. It will take some work on your part, but it's worth it. Call large business, hospitals, universities, city or county governments and school systems in your area and ask for the Telecom Manager or similar position. Be friendly to that person when you find them, say who you are and that you are needing a new phone systems. Ask who the best business phone system dealers are in your area. You will often find the same two or three names repeated. That's who you call in for planning meetings and proposals! Let me know if I can provide any more info for you. DJ
