How do you connect multiple business phones to one phone number and have the ability to call out when one ?
or more phones are being used. In other words, If I wanted to have 7 phones hooked up to be used for telemarketing and making appoints on one number. But, wanted the ability to have more than one phone able to call out without interrupting another out going call from the same line or prevent the line from being busy when one line or more is in use, how would I do that? What would I need, what would I be asking for in a Business phone service, how would I hook this up?

- a Key Service Unit, minimum of 7 stations, multiple phone lines from your local telco, and what they call "roll over". Roll over allows the next call in to go to the next available line-in. Call your local telco or look in the phone book for telephone equipment. on the internet, www.hellodirect.com has what you need.
- You are asking for a key system. A key system allows jane and bob who works at the office to call each other, while joe makes is talking to a potential customer who is at home. So you have inter-office calling, and connection to the PSTN. (your outside line, or business number). If you want jane, sue, and jack to be able to talk to customers at the same time you would need more than number ex: 555-6202 555-6203 555-6204. The ratio for a key system is 1 outside line for every 8 employees but there are other factors that come into play. For your scenario you might need 6 lines for every 8 employees because your company is in telemarketing. hope this helps. If you need more info contact me.
- you can not do this with one phone line... you would need to obtain as many phone lines as you anticipate being used for in/out going calls at the same time... you would have the phone company set up hunting on your lines, so that you only need to give out your main line to customers, when a customer calls your main line if that line is busy it will hunt, or roll over to the next available line... if line 1 is busy then goes to line 2, if busy then to line 3 etc... for inside your business you would need to purchace and have a phone system installed. most telephone service providers do not install or maintain equiptment on your premise so you will need to find a telecommunications contractor to install and program your phone system. in some cases you can even have your system programed to show the caller ID data for your main line (or toll-free number) regardless of what line is dialed out from...
