Toshiba Phone System

Is it worth switching my business phones to Skype phones?

Are there real cost savings to be made, or is it just another gimmick? I'm based in Ireland and I was wondering if anyone has done this already and if you noticed any cost savings or other points of note.

  1. yes international skype to skype calls are free
  2. VoIP service will save you money particularly on long distance phone calls. SIP providers of which Skype is one, here is a list of a few more if you want to compare (http://www.nch.com.au/talk/sip.html). Another plus to using a VoIP service is it is a lot easier to use telephony software to give your phone system so really great functionality that will be a lot cheaper than the traditional hardward counterparts required for a PBX phone switch or music on hold for example. Here are a few links to some economical applications that are great for businesses that you might want to take a look at, that will work with any one of the those SIP providers.
