How do you go about selling a business phone number and how do you know what to sell it for?

We have a sprinkler repair company that has been in business for 25 years in the same area and we are interested in selling the phone numbers that people been calling us on for all of these years... most of our business is return customers so we know the # is very valuable even without advertising the phones ring off the hook. We can't find any resources that help us find out what someone would charge for a phone number or a venue to sell it in? Any links or info would be helpful. Thanks

1. I would imagine that it only has value for you....reason taht it rings off the hook is because they are calling YOU not the number.
2. I'm not familliar with selling a phone number but you could sell your client list and agree to transfer the phone number into the buyers name. They can choose to use the number or have it rollover to theirs. If you're confident that the clients are repeat clients you may want to consider recieving royalty payments instead of a lump sum. You'll probably generate more interest that way because it's safer for the buyer.
