activate my windows vista ????

Hiya my toshiba-windows vista laptop says that I need to activate my windows.. i typed in my product key that's at the back of my laptop.. it was invalid.. but for the phone system it said to get a confirmation ID .. what does this mean can someone give me the confirmation ID or tell me anything else about product id.. also i dont know big computer things im no expert ! 1. Typically you type in the key and it says invalid so you select 'activate by telephone' and it generates some other code that you tell the computer. That's probably the code it's asking for.
2. If you have problems, you can choose to activate by phone which you then call the phone #(step #10 shows a picture of the phone number) and you then tell or enter in your product key on your phone and then it will take like 10 secs or so until they the automated operator will then give you your confirmation ID and then you enter it on your computer and hang up the phone when you're done. 3. not sure what you are talking about but there should be a number you can call and ask them. sure it isnt to difficult.
