Toshiba Phone System

Are there any cordless phone systems that have handsets that do not need to be plugged into a jack?

I'd like to plug in some kind of base station to my T-mobile VoIP, and then have additional cordless phones in the house (that aren't wired to the T-mobile router). Is this possible?

  1. Hello No, the land line that comes to your house carries a 60 volt supply (that is why it still works through electrical blackouts). The base unit to cordless phones is what charges the phone, you can have 1 charger and a couple of hand sets and change them every day to keep them both charged. Andy C
  2. If I understand your question correctly, then Yes you can easily do it. I do it myself. Here is how I do it: I have a VoIP adapter connected to my Internet Modem. I plug my Panasonic DECT 6 cordless phone Base Unit into the RJ-11 phone jack of my VoIP adapter box. My Panasonic cordless phone has one extension phone which is normally located in another room of the house. So really, I can talk over VoIP from anywhere in the house without any extra phone wiring or cables to connect or run. That's the beauty of cordless phones and VoIP. Keeping in mind that the extension cordless phone does sit in its battery charger cradle when not in use and is plugged into 110 VAC in order to maintain its battery charge.
